At 40, Vimla returned to her maiden home with two children and no financial support, determined that hardship would not define her family’s future.

Enrolling in the Beauty Culture course at the Donaldson Skill Development Centre became her turning point – a step toward reclaiming confidence, skills, and control over her life. The training offered more than technical learning; it gave her community, purpose, and belief in herself.

After completing the course, Vimla began offering beauty services from home and steadily built a loyal clientele. To strengthen her income, she refined her tailoring skills through the Cutting and Tailoring course.
Today, she earns Rs.8,000–10,000 per month and has begun saving consistently for the first time. She independently funded her son’s graduation and supports her daughter’s private education. She now dreams of opening her own boutique-cum-beauty parlour.
For Vimla, financial independence means dignity, security, and choice and her journey proves how skills can rebuild lives.
