Pea Crop Demonstration in Dangarwara Village, Jaipur, Rajasthan

To promote scientific cultivation practices, a field-level demonstration was conducted on farmer Ramesh Mehra’s field in Dangarwara village using the improved pea variety DS-10. The farmer was supported with HYV seeds and inputs such as neem manure, micronutrients, and neem oil for natural pest and soil management.

The demonstration proved effective in enhancing the farmer’s knowledge, skills, and attitudes toward improved pea cultivation practices. Adoption of neem-based plant protection helped control early-stage pests and supported healthy crop growth, resulting in a uniform crop stand and better yield performance compared to traditional methods. The farmer recorded a production of 3.25 quintals, fetching a market price of Rs.25–30 per kg, leading to improved income realization.

The success of the demonstration has encouraged the farmer to adopt these practices across remaining land and motivated neighbouring farmers to consider improved pea cultivation.
